In January 2024, voters in New Hampshire received robocalls using an AI-cloned voice of President Biden telling them not to vote in the primary. The US Federal Communications Commission then ruled that AI-generated voices in robocalls fall under existing robocall restrictions.
Three questions before you share
- Who first posted it, and can you find the original?
- Is a reliable news outlet reporting the same thing?
- Does it seem designed to make you angry right now?
If you cannot answer the first two, do not forward it. Sharing a fake, even to mock it, helps it spread.
