Since March 2024, YouTube has asked creators to disclose content that is meaningfully altered or synthetically generated when it seems realistic.
You need to disclose
- Making a real person appear to say or do something they did not.
- Altering footage of real events or places.
- Generating realistic scenes that did not happen.
You usually do not
Clearly unrealistic or animated content, colour correction, beauty filters, or using AI for scripts and ideas. Disclosure is a checkbox in YouTube Studio when you upload.
